Frantz Fanon argued that the process of revolution and resistance is the only thing that can fully heal and correct the oppressed. We can’t wait for fully internal healing or for the masses to awaken, time is not on our side. The best scenario is one where we heal as we fight, we get our shit together as we break our enemies shit apart.

Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
In the years preceding Dr. King’s assassination, he began to realize the flaw in both his analysis, and tactics. He began to understand that there was no possibility of freedom for the Black people under capitalism and imperialism. King was moving to the left and embracing the emerging Black Nationalist movement. When King began to articulate his new analysis and employ new, more radical tactics, he oldest allies began to distance themselves from him. He was murdered by the United States government in order to stop King’s further revolutionary development. The very government that killed Dr. King has co-opted and distorted his legacy. I respect the man, and admire his ability to continually grow and make corrections.
